Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are alterations included in the gown price?
    Given that all brides require different alterations, we do not markup or add alteration costs to gowns. These costs go directly to the seamstress.
  • Do you provide alterations?
    Blue Sparrow Bridal Co. does not specifically provide alterations; however, we do have a local seamstress that will meet brides at the boutique for convenience. *** Seamstresses create their own appointments and prices. Please get directly with her to schedule your appointment ***
  • There's a specific gown I want to try on that is carried by one of your designers, but you don't have it in your shop. Can you get it for me?
    Possibly! Designers offer what is called a "loaner program." This is where they have select gowns available for shops to borrow for a week's time. Typically the fee for this is around $100 (shipping & handling.) Get with us if there is a specific gown you are wanting to try on so we can see if it is possible.
  • How long does it take for gowns to come in?
    A good rule of thumb is to say 8+ months for a gown to come in. This is an estimated timeline and every gown/designer is different. Please get with your consultant if you are on a tight time frame.
  • Can I cancel my gown order?
    ALL SALES ARE FINAL Once an order is placed with a designer, we cannot cancel it; making all sales final.
  • Can I buy a gown off of the rack?
    The short answer is, yes. Most gowns can be sold off the rack at a discounted price. The exception to this will be the gown's season and availability. Please get with your consultant about specific gowns.
  • What designers do you carry?
    We offer many different collections with the following designers... - Justin Alexander - Rebecca Ingram by Maggie Sottero - Moonlight Bridal - Mon Cheri Bridal
  • Will my gown come custom fit to my body?
    No, gowns run in the standard 2,4,6,8.... sizes. When we take your measurements, we are looking to see which size fits you BEST. Most brides will have to go into alterations once the gown is received.
  • What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?
    If there is anything you are wanted to incorporate into your bridal look, you are welcome to bring it. This can range from heirlooms to shape wear. ***Undergarments are required to try on gowns***
  • How many guests can I bring with me?
    Our VIP room can fit 8+ guests comfortably and our standard room can fit 2-3.
  • Can men attend appointments?
    Generally, men are not allowed in the back dressing room area. Given the nature of appointments, women are often exposed in different ways. To ensure our brides feel their best and are comfortable, we ask that men do not attend appointments. However, if is extremely important to you, please get with us about scheduling a time outside of normal business hours. In the end, we want everyone happy!
  • Are children allowed at appointments?
    Children are more than welcome to accompany you at your appointment. There's a good chance one of ours will be in the back office as well! We do; however, ask that children act accordingly and do not bring colored juices or food into the boutique.
  • Are appointments required?
    While appointments are not required, they are highly recommended. This is to ensure you have a personalized experience and dedicated bridal consultant ready to assist with your needs.
